9 Months

Dear Parker,

Only 3 more months and you will already be a year old!!! Slow down and stop growing...I'm going to put you in a box and not let you get any bigger! I can't believe you are getting so close to your first birthday!

You had your 9 month checkup on the 12th. All was good!  Doc said you were developing and progressing great.  Your stats were still on the lower end for weight...you weigh 16.5 lbs still and are in the 2%.  For height you were in the 50% and head was normal as well.  Soooo, you are still a little guy but no worries :)

You are wearing mostly 9 month and some 12 month clothes. You look like such a little man when you get all dressed up in your big boy jeans and button down shirts.  You are still in size 3 diapers.
You are a fairly good eater.  We recently started in on table food and you love to feed yourself.  You still don't like veggies very much....argghhhh.  Mommy will keep trying.  I can sometime trick you with mixing it with yogurt, but you are usually too smart for me.  You love bananas and put the whole thing in your mouth in order to take a bite...it's hilarious...you little monkey.

You usually take two pretty good naps a day. The first is usually around 10 or 11 and the second is usually around 3.  Occasionally you still take a late evening 6 o'clock snoozer. Then finally around 8 or 8:30 you start getting fussy and just pass out. You sleep until around 8 or 8:30 every morning but you get up at least once a night still.

You still just have two teeth - on the bottom.
You are a BUSY BUSY boy. You are crawling EVERYWHERE.  You also LOVE pulling up and standing. I'm scared you are going to walk early. Not sure if I am ready for that. You love to crawl all over the house and get into everything...especially the dog bowl and mommy's computer.

You babble a lot and smile a lot. You say the sounds for "momma" and "dad-da" but I don't think you are associating them yet. Your favorite sound it "da-da-da-da-etc" and you recently started saying "ooooooooo".

You have just started pointing at things! It's the cutest thing...it's like you are really trying to tell us something.

Chillin' with Mommy

Guilty...I found the bag of puffs!
I can't imagine my life without you. I am SO blessed to be your mother! I love you!  -Mommy

Duluth Ski Trip

This past weekend Patrick's whole class made the drive to Duluth, about 3.5 hours north of where we live, to go skiing.  We all left on Friday and just chilled at the hotel that evening.  Saturday we woke bright and early to hit the slopes.  Unfortunately we haven't got much snow yet so very few runs were open, but it was still tons of fun. The view at the top of the hill was of Lake Superior which is absolutely beautiful!

We skied until 2-ish and headed back to the hotel for a nap.  That evening we all went out to eat at Old Chicago, a delicious pizza place on the canal.  The guys had a gift exchange after we ate and when we left it started snowing...soooo pretty!  Parker, Ansley, Melissa, and I headed back to the hotel to put the kiddos to bed but the rest of the bunch went to show off their dance moves at Grandma's.  I heard some pretty funny stories the next morning :)  We just headed home on Sunday since we had Sully with us and came home to 5 inches of snow.

First of December and Snowblowing!

So we have basically no leaves on the trees now, a little snow (although they usually have a lot more snow already by this time), and the creek has started to freeze over!  Looks a little colder than the first of November pic...that's because it is.  It is 19 degrees this afternoon as I am writing this post.  The highs right now are in the low 20's.

Sully loving the snow!!!
We got 5 inches of snow on Saturday, so Sunday Patrick had to break out the snowblower!  Unfortunately you get what you pay for and it has a few glitches, but he got the driveway done.  Here are a few pics of him working in the freezy cold...
check out how much the shovel is in the snow!

Thankgiving in MN

This Thanksgiving was a little different for us...

For one, we weren't in Texas.  Two, we weren't with family.  And three, I didn't get any dewberry pie!
I'm thankful for my Mom and Dad, Yummy Turkey, and Football!

But overall, we still had a relaxing and fun holiday by ourselves.  It was truly a vacation since we didn't pack, we didn't go anywhere, and we didn't have anything to do.  We did spend a lot of time with our Minnesota bff's, Jen and AJ...love them.  We all watched lots of football, played the Newlywed Game, prepared a pretty good Thanksgiving meal, watched the Elf and Christmas Vacation and The Lincoln Lawyer, addressed our Christmas cards, and a little shopping too.
Watching some football.

Halloween 2011

Parker and I were home in Texas for Halloween this year, so unfortunately Daddy couldn't be a part of the festivities :(  We spent it with Nana and Pops though and had a great time.  Mom dressed in her great witch costume and Parker loved seeing all the kids come to the door!  Parker was a little monkey this year.
